Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.

THIS IS THE OFFICIAL WEBSITE OF
THE FOUNDATION FOR BIBLICAL RESEARCH (FBR)
(THE MINISTRY OF J-RICHARD AND VIRGINIA FUGATE)

FBR is a tax-paying, sole proprietorship founded in 1977 for the purposes of

  • Performing technical Bible research in the original languages of Scripture

  • Developing, publishing, and promoting technical tools produced by that research

  • Utilizing inductive Bible research and publishing popular books and articles on specific practical topics for the benefit of all believers

Some of FBR’s practical books are

  • What the Bible Says About Child Training, book and workbook. These materials present Christian parenting information from a strictly Bible-based perspective a Christian needs to successfully accomplish Biblical child training.

  • What the Bible Says About Being a Man. This book was developed to present the historical/philosophical reasons that describe how Biblical manhood has been virtually destroyed in America and how even Christian men have become emasculated and feminized.

  • What the Bible Says About Suffering. One reviewer of this book says it should have been titled, A Hidden Key to Victory, because it clearly teaches how Christian suffering is used by God to develop a believer’s Christian Maturity. It establishes the fact that knowing what the Bible teaches specifically about suffering, combined with an understanding of God's Character, will benefit believers in every area of their Christian life. Pastors and Biblical counselors will particularly find it is a mine rich with Spiritual Truth and practical help.

  • Successful Home Schooling, Will Early Education Ruin Your Child, and No Place Like Home…School are the three books Mr. Fugate wrote on home schooling. He was an executive with two major Christian curriculum publishers and the Keynote Speaker at over forty homeschool state conventions in the movement’s early years.

  • On the Other Side of the Garden (book and workbook), Victorious Women, and The Biblical Womanhood Study Packet that includes all three were written by Virginia Fugate on Biblical womanhood. These materials are designed for women’s’ Bible studies on how to understand God’s Purpose for Christian womanhood. They properly distinguish submission from blind obedience and
how to: communicate Biblically with a husband; deal with a passive, overbearing, or unspiritual man; handle disappointments and irritations in marriage; and turn the frustrations of marriage into joy.

FBR’s technical Bible Research tools that are currently available are:

  • Philosophy and Methodology: Bible-Based Hermeneutics. This is a textbook written at the seminary level. This book seeks to establish the basic rules needed to interpret the Bible accurately. It carefully explains the difference between and importance of God’s Revelation, Inspiration, and Illumination? It also sets down logical steps that should be followed in exegeting Bible passages. This textbook is available through this website and as an integrated product in the Logos Bible Software program.

  • Five Facets of the Balanced Christian Life (Technical Version). This textbook is currently under development for publishing and hopefully for use in Logos Bible Software. Sections will be made available for free downloading as they are completed. This is FBR’s newest seminary-level textbook covering each of the five distinct aspects of the Christian’s multiple relationships and roles as they are
defined in Scripture. It is FBR’s belief that much of the division existing in the Church today results from a lack of knowledge about these distinct aspects and/or an imbalance in their practice. The purpose of this Bible-based text will be to describe how a believer should function in each and all of his relationships and roles between himself and
    • The Members of the Godhead (Facet One)
    • The Unsaved (Facet Two)
    • Fellow Believers (Facet Three)
    • The World and Satan (Facet Four)
    • His Own Being (Self) (Facet Five)

  • Facet One: The Relationship Between Man and God (Technical Version) of this book is available now as a pre-production release for evaluation and/or free downloading from this website’s Download section.

Additional practical booklets are also being released in pre-production form based on the technical work described above, Five Facets of the Balanced Christian Life (Technical Version). They can be downloaded free from this website’s Download section. These booklets are designed for personal growth studies, evangelization, or aides in lesson preparation for teaching key doctrines to new and/or immature believers.

Available now are

  • The Relationship between Man and God, Booklet One, a popular-level booklet from the What the Bible Says About the Christian Life series.

  • The Believer’s Earthly Relationship with God, Booklet Two. This is the second popular-level booklet from the What the Bible Says About the Christian Life series.
